The Ukrainian Agriculture Ministry on Tuesday outlined its 10-point plan to develop the country's agricultural sector within the next five years.

In accordance with a document of the plan posted at the ministry's website, the country will intensify efforts to draw investment to farming and will carry out a series of reforms to that end.

The Ukrainian government will ease conditions for doing agribusiness, revise its food security policy and implement reform measures in land, taxation and institutions till the end of 2020.

The plan will focus on establishing new agri-food chains, entering new markets, improving wellbeing of rural residents, protecting the environment and developing agricultural science.

Increasing competitiveness of Ukrainian agricultural products, raising exports and boosting farmers' income have been listed as the top targets of the development strategy.

According to the preliminary estimates, Ukraine will invest around 4.3 billion U.S. dollars in implementing the program, of which, about 70 percent will be met with budget from the state and the remaining sum will be covered by investment from international organizations and by private investors.
