Iceland's consumer price index (CPI) registered a month-on-month increase of 0.37 percent as of the middle of March, according to statistics issued Wednesday by Statistics Iceland.

The figures showed the CPI in March was 432.8 points, up 0.37 percent compared with 431.2 points in the middle of February.

As winter sales came to an end, the price of clothing and footwear increased by 3.6 percent.

In the past 12 months, the CPI increased by 1.5 percent.

Price statistics are based on price collection that takes place for at least one week in the middle of each month. Enditem
