Two handmade bombs exploded on Thursday in a town in western Turkey, wounding one soldier, local media reported.

The bombs were detonated on a road in the town of Soma by a remote-control system one after another during the passage of cars, the Haberturk daily said.

A soldier was slightly wounded by the second blast, the daily said, adding scores of ambulances and fire brigades were dispatched to the scene.

An extensive investigation was launched, the report added.

The blasts came in the aftermath of a suicide bombing attack in Turkey's northwestern city of Bursa a day earlier, in which the female attacker was killed and 13 others were injured.

The security situation in Turkey has deteriorated in recent months as a string of bombing attacks have hit Istanbul and Ankara, the national capital, inflicting heavy casualties. Endit
