Good cooperation between China and Djibouti will see the former construct a regional hospital in Tadjourah, the main town in northern Djibouti, an official source has said.

A delegation led by China's ambassador to Djibouti, Fu Huaqiang, met on Monday with Djibouti's Health Minister Djama Elmi Okieh to discuss the project's feasibility study.

From a technical view point, the future Tadjourah regional hospital will be built on a radius measuring 50,000 square meters.

The structure which will be a referral hospital and whose construction cost has not yet been revealed, will have a 120 bed capacity.

The project which features among the priorities of Djibouti's health ministry, aims to address the growing medical needs of the population in the northern parts of the country.

In 2012, China constructed the first regional hospital in Arta, some 40 km south of the capital. Endit
