Three civilians were injured Thursday as a roadside bomb struck a police vehicle in the northern Afghan city of Kunduz, according to police.
The Kunduz city is also capital of the Kunduz province, 250 km north of Kabul.
"A mine planted by militants on a road outside provincial capital Kunduz city struck the vehicle of a police commander, Mohammad Karim, but he fortunately escaped unhurt," Mahfozullah Akbari, police spokesman in the province, told Xinhua.
However, he noted that three passersby, all civilians, sustained injuries in the blast that happened at around 09:00 a.m. local time.
Taliban militants who are active in parts of the troubled Kunduz province, haven't commented on the situation. Endit
