Chinese premier extends condolences to Sri Lanka on flood, landslide disasters

BEIJING, May 28 (Xinhua) -- Chinese Premier Li Keqiang on Sunday sent a message of condolences to his Sri Lankan counterpart Ranil Wickremesinghe over the country's recent flood and landslide disasters.

In his message, Li expressed sincere condolences to Sri Lanka's government and people, saying that China is willing to exert all efforts to support and help the Sri Lankan government with its disaster relief work, Li said.

The death toll from Sri Lanka's devastating floods and landslides triggered by monsoon rains has reached 146, with 112 people missing by Sunday noon, Sri Lanka's Disaster Management Center said. Enditem
