PARIS, June 23 (Xinhua) -- French shares lost on Friday, with the benchmark Paris CAC 40 down 0.30 percent, or 15.81 points, to close at 5,266.12 points.

Among the 40 selected large companies, 27 lost in the day, with French multinational automotive supplier Valeo tumbling 1.48 percent, the top loser of the blue chips. French car manufacturer Peugeot was down 1.38 percent. An other French car manufacturer Renault edged down 1.05 percent.

French multinational electric utility company Engie S.A. rose 0.94 percent, the top gainer of the day. Commercial property investor Unibail-Rodamco gained 0.91 percent. European multinational aerospace and defence corporation Airbus Group was up 0.88 percent. Enditem
