NEW YORK, June 26 (Xinhua) -- U.S. stocks opened higher on Monday as bank and tech stocks rose and oil prices stabilize.

Shortly after the opening bell, the Dow Jones Industrial Average was up 54.01 points, or 0.25 percent, to 21,448.77. The S&P 500 added 6.98 points, or 0.29 percent, to 2,445.28. The Nasdaq Composite Index gained 27.21 points, or 0.43 percent, to 6,292.46.

Large-cap tech shares, including those of Alphabet, Apple, Amazon and Facebook all traded higher in the morning session. Shares of Apple rose 1.25 percent to 148.11 U.S. dollars apiece, contributing the most gains to the Dow.

Meanwhile, shares of Morgan Stanley, Goldman Sachs and JPMorgan Chase rose 0.27 percent, 0.45 percent, and 0.23 percent respectively in early trading.

U.S. crude prices rose 0.35 percent to 43.16 dollars a barrel, on track for a third straight session of gains. But increasing U.S. output and little evidence of decline in global inventories capped gains.

In economic news, new orders for manufactured durable goods in May decreased 2.5 billion dollars, or 1.1 percent, to 228.2 billion dollars, according to U.S. Census Bureau, missing market expectations. Enditem
