PARIS, July 27 (Xinhua) -- French shares closed almost flat on Monday, with the benchmark Paris CAC 40 down 0.06 percent, or 3.22 points, to close at 5186.95 points.

A total of 20 of the 40 selected large companies lost in the day.

French multinational hotel group Accor tumbled 3.21 percent, the top loser of the blue chips. European multinational aerospace and defence corporation Airbus Group was down 3.19 percent. French water and waste group Veolia Environment edged down 1.67 percent.

Schneider electric, French multinational corporation specializing in energy management and automation solutions rose 3.21 percent, the top gainer of the day. Mobile phone maker Nokia gained 3.14 percent. Steel giant ArcelorMittal was up 1.43 percent. Enditem
