HO CHI MINH CITY, Aug. 17 (Xinhua) -- Do My Linh, Miss Vietnam 2016, has been chosen to represent Vietnam at the approaching Miss World 2017 in China, Vietnam's national beauty contest organizers announced here on Thursday.

At a press conference on Thursday in Ho Chi Minh City, Linh said she has recently improved her catwalk and performance skills, command of English, and physical strength so that she can be more confident at the coming Miss World slated for Nov. 18.

The 1.71-meter girl said she is implementing a project to help local children affected by Agent Orange/dioxin.

Last year in the city, Linh was named Miss Vietnam 2016 at the age of 20 when she was a third-year student at the Hanoi Foreign Trade University. Enditem
