LONDON, Aug. 18 (Xinhua) -- British stocks decreased on Friday, with the benchmark FTSE 100 Index down by 0.86 percent, or 63.89 points, to close at 7,323.98 points.

Randgold Resources, a gold mining business, soared 1.22 percent, the top gainer of the blue chips. Rentokil Initial and RSA Insurance Group increased by 1.20 percent and 0.38 percent, respectively.

Paddy Power Betfair,an international sports betting and gaming operator, was the worst performer in the blue chips, with its shares losing 3.95 percent.
