Beach volleyball championship kicks off in Libya's Zuwara

TRIPOLI, Aug. 20 (Xinhua) -- The Sixth Awssu International Beach Volleyball Championship started in the Libyan city of Zuwara city on Sunday.

Fourteen local and international teams are participating in the three-day tournament. Teams from Spain, Morocco, Venezuela, Tunisia and Serbia are taking part in the tournament supervised by the Libyan General Authority of Youth and Sports.

The western city Zuwara is hosting the championship despite the insecurity and chaos in the north African country.

The first match ended with the Serbian team defeating Misrata team 2-0. Zuwara team won the second match against Tripoli team 2-1. Enditem
