SAN FRANCISCO -- One student was killed and four others injured on Wednesday in a shooting at a high school near Spokane in the northwestern U.S. state of Washington.

WASHINGTON -- Eight people died at a nursing home in the U.S. state of Florida after its air conditioning system was knocked out by Hurricane Irma, authorities said Wednesday.

KHARTOUM -- At least 8 people were killed on Wednesday and 19 others injured in a traffic accident on the road linking the Sudanese capital Khartoum and Wad Madani town of Gezira State in central Sudan, according to Traffic Police.

"The accident took place when a passenger bus collided with a mini-bus on the highway linking Khartoum and Gezira State," Col. Mussa Abdul-Ghader, Director of Gezira State's Traffic Police, said in a statement. (Sudan-Traffic Accident)

CAIRO -- Egyptian Interior Ministry said Wednesday that a wanted terrorist was killed in a fire exchange with police forces in the country's Mediterranean city of Alexandria.
