HANOI, Oct. 5 (Xinhua) -- Jason Brown, former Welsh professional footballer, on Wednesday started goalkeeping coaching for goalkeepers of Vietnam's national football squad, the Vietnam Football Federation said on Thursday.

The 35-year-old man is expected to help improve performances of three goalies Tuan Manh, Tuan Linh and Tien Dung, contributing to the anticipated win of the Vietnamese squad against Cambodia in an Asian Cup qualifier on Oct. 10 in Hanoi.

The squad has recently been criticized for mistakes of their goalies. Mistakes by Vietnamese goalkeeper Minh Long in a clash with Thailand contributed to the early elimination of the Vietnamese team from the 2017 Southeast Asian (SEA) Games in Malaysia.

Brown began his career at Gillingham, making over 100 appearances for the English club, before joining Premier League side Blackburn Rovers in 2006. During his career, he was capped three times for Wales after making his debut in 2006. Enditem
