SINGAPORE, Oct. 6 (Xinhua) -- Singaporean stocks closed higher on Friday, with the benchmark Straits Times Index (STI) rising 0.9 percent or 29.45 points to close at 3,291.29.
A total of 2.20 billion shares changed hands with a turnover of 1.34 billion Singapore dollars (about 983.99 million U.S. dollars). Gainers outnumbered losers by 278 to 176.
The STI index closed up 0.78 percent or 25.19 points to close at 3,261.84 on Thursday. Enditem
