Armenia-Russia interregional forum opens in Yerevan

YEREVAN, Oct. 6 (Xinhua) -- The sixth Armenia-Russia interregional conference kicked off in Yerevan on Friday, with the focus on interregional cooperation in commerce, economy, agriculture, tourism and information technology.

The three-day event is expected to yield a number of bilateral agreements between the two countries in information technology and communications.

The forum will include five sessions on commercial and economic cooperation, agriculture, tourism, IT sector, as well as innovation and humanitarian issues.

A message issued by Armenian President Serzh Sargsyan that was read at the conference welcomed initiatives in promoting interregional cooperation.

Sargsyan wished the participants in the conference "fruitful exchange of opinions that will help form new ideas to be implemented for the benefit of Armenian-Russian relations." Enditem
