PARIS, Oct. 6 (Xinhua) -- French trade deficit stood at 4.5 billion euros (5.26 billion U.S. dollars) at the end of August, down from to 5.9 billion euros reported in July due to growing sales abroad, official figures showed on Friday.
The country total exports were up by 1.4 percent to 39.8 billion euros thanks to boosted aeronautical sales and strong exports of agri-food products and industrial machinery, customs services said.
Over the period, imports reported falling trend to 44.3 billion euros, down by 1.8 percent compared to July data.
France gained 1.866 billion euros in sales of 23 Airbus, compared to 19 aircrafts sold in July and which generated 1.58 billion euros.
For the past 12 months, the cumulated trade deficit already climbed to 66.2 billion euros in total. Enditem
