PARIS, Oct. 6 (Xinhua) -- France's budget deficit was down by 3.1 percent to 93 billion euros (109.06 billion U.S. dollars) at the end of August compared with the same month a year earlier on soaring tax receipts, the country's budget ministry said Friday.

France posted 4.6 percent rise in revenues to 201.5 billion euros over the period after collecting more 7.6 billion euros of net tax over the period, the ministry's data showed.

The value of spending stood at 262.4 billion euros, down from 252.5 billion euros reported in August 2016.
