ST. PETERSBURG, Nov. 10 (Xinhua) -- A cinema and literature festival was organized Thursday in St. Petersburg for Russian readers to learn more about the Chinese novelist Liu Zhenyun and his literature world.

At the festival, Liu met with readers and spoke about the recently published Russian edition of his novel "Someone to Talk To," which has won China's highest literature award Mao Dun Literature Prize.

Liu Zhenyun is a representative of neo-realism. The Russian translator of his books, Oksana Rodionova, noted that the language of his novels is not complicated, but the depth of feelings is always hidden behind the simplicity.

The festival is the first opportunity for Russian readers to watch three movies based on Liu Zhenyun's novels: "Cellphone," "Someone to Talk To," and "I Did Not Kill My Husband." Enditem
