ANKARA, Jan. 17 (Xinhua) --Turkey said Wednesday it will take all kinds of measures to eliminate threat posed by Kurdish militia in western Syria and will not allow establishment of "army of terrorists."

Turkey's top security body, the National Security Council, held a meeting with the topic of Syrian Kurdish fighters advancing their achievements in northern Syria top on the agenda.

Turkey will not allow establishment of "terror corridor" next to its borders, said a written statement.

Turkey criticized the U.S. for the plans to form a security force by the Syrian Democratic Forces (SDF), an umbrella group dominated by the Kurdish People's Protection Units (YPG).

Turkey called on the U.S. for collecting all weapons that are delivered to the YPG as the fight against Islamic State(IS) in Syria has completed.

Turkey sees YPG as the Syrian affiliates of the Kurdistan Workers' Party (PKK). However, the U.S. has supported the YPG as its ally on the ground in combating IS in Syria.

The U.S.-led coalition against IS had issued a written statement and confirmed it will set up a 30,000-strong new border security force with the YPG-led Syrian Democratic Forces (SDF).

The council also decided to extend state of emergency for three more months.

The prime ministry will submit the motion to the parliament for approval of the state of emergency for sixth times, which is declared after a military coup attempt on July 15, 2016. Enditem
