ZAGREB, May 9 (Xinhua) -- Croatian Minister of Economy Martina Dalic sent confidential business information to Agrokor lawyers and consultancy companies that participated in the company's restructuring process in the past months via private email address, Croatian newspaper Index revealed on Wednesday.

Dalic's correspondence with lawyers and consultants, who were involved in the government's restructuring process of the debt-ridden Agrokor, shows that she had been sending them confidential data regarding the state of the company, before they were hired. The letter did not go through the official email service of the Ministry of the Economy, and it is not known how the emails from the private account of Dalic came to light.

"All this is planned and timed against me, and my emails only confirm that we are looking for experts outside the government who will be involved in this process," she said on Wednesday.

Dalic is the author of "Lex Agrokor", a special law that allowed the Croatian government to engage in the process of stabilizing the biggest private company of the country.

On Tuesday, the Constitutional Court of Croatia decided that the adoption of the Law on Extraordinary Administration Procedure in Companies of Systematic Importance for Croatia, known as "Lex Agrokor", is not in contravention of the Croatian Constitution.

With revenues of 6.5 billion euros (7.66 billion U.S. dollars) in 2015, which was almost 16 percent of the country's total GDP, Agrokor, a private food and retail group, is the biggest company in Croatia.

Debt crisis hit the company in January last year and the government reacted with the special law dubbed "Lex Agrokor" that enabled the state to take over the management of the company. Enditem
