SEOUL -- South Korea shares with China the strategic goal of the Korean Peninsula's complete denuclearization, Seoul's Foreign Ministry said Tuesday.

ANKARA -- Two Turkish soldiers were killed in two separate bomb attacks by the outlawed Kurdistan Workers' Party (PKK) in southeastern Turkey, the military said Tuesday.

In Siirt province, the PKK militants detonated a previously placed bomb on the road with a remote control when a soldier team was passing by, killing one soldier and two others. (Turkey-Bomb-Attack)

KAMPALA -- As the world is set to commemorate World Refugee Day on June 20, new figures by the UN refugee agency show that the refugee population in Uganda increased by 44 percent in 2017 compared to the previous year.

The United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees (UNHCR) Global Trends Report 2017, released on Tuesday, attributes the increase to new arrivals of refugees from neighboring South Sudan and the Democratic Republic of the Congo (DRC) pushing the number to 1.4 million refugees. SOFIA -- Some 75 percent of the agreement on Britain's exit from the European Union (EU) has already been negotiated, Bulgarian Foreign Minister Ekaterina Zaharieva said here on Tuesday.
