HARARE, July 4 (Xinhua) -- The following are the news highlights in Zimbabwe's major media outlets on Wednesday.

-- The 4.2 billion U.S. dollar platinum investment project in Mhondoro-Ngezi has become one of the fastest projects to be implemented under Zimbabwean President Emmerson Mnangagwa's administration, with the investor, Karo Resources of Cyprus, having already moved mining equipment on site only three months after the deal was signed.

Mines and Mining Development Minister Winston Chitando said Tuesday that Mnangagwa was expected to do the groundbreaking ceremony for the massive project in the next two weeks. (The Herald)

-- Zimbabwean Police Commissioner-General Godwin Matanga on Tuesday said two suspects were arrested in Bulawayo in connection with the White City Stadium terror attack at the beginning of an intense investigation to sniff out perpetrators of the heinous atrocity which killed two security operatives and injured 47 people.

On June 23, a grenade that was targeted at Zimbabwean President Emmerson Mnangagwa went off at the stadium, causing pandemonium. (The Herald)

-- Main opposition MDC Alliance presidential candidate Nelson Chamisa on Tuesday threatened to unleash an "earthquake" to force Zimbabwean President Emmerson Mnangagwa and Zimbabwe Electoral Commission chairperson Priscilla Chigumba to accede to his demands for the leveling of the electoral roadmap ahead of the July 30 polls.

The 40-year-old opposition leader made the threat through his spokesperson Nkululeko Sibanda and chief election agent Jameson Timba. (NewsDay)

-- Zimbabwean government has granted low-cost airline FlyAfrica permission to fly the lucrative Harare-Bulawayo route when it resumes operating within 90 days, ending the monopoly that was enjoyed by struggling national carrier, Air Zimbabwe.

FlyAfrica was forced to suspend operations last month to sort out its license and aircraft ownership status and this has to be done within 90 days. (NewsDay)
