AMMAN, July 26 (Xinhua) -- Jordan and Russia on Thursday discussed the latest developments of the Syrian crisis, especially the issue of Syrian refugees.

The talks were held between Jordanian Foreign Minister Ayman Safadi and a Russian delegation headed by Russian President's Special Envoy to Syria Alexander Lavrentiev.

The two sides looked into developments in southern Syria, as well as some suggestions by Russia related to the return of Syrian refugees from neighboring countries.

Safadi said Jordan supports the voluntary return of Syrian refugees and the efforts to create a political, economic, security and social condition for them to return to Syria.

Jordan will continue to cooperate with Russia to reach a political solution that preserves the security and territorial integrity of Syria and is accepted by all Syrian people, he added.

For his part, Lavrentiev voiced Russia's support for Jordan's efforts and role in attaining peace for Syria. Enditem
