ADDIS ABABA, Aug. 15 (Xinhua) -- The following are news highlights in Ethiopia's major media outlets on Wednesday.

-- Ethiopia's Minister of Foreign Affairs, Workneh Gebeyehu, said that the strategic partnership that Ethiopia and Djibouti have been enjoying for the past several years would be consolidated.

Workneh, who is in Djibouti on a working visit, told journalists that the strategic partnership between the two countries would not be affected by situations. (Ethiopian News Agency/ENA)

-- The Federal First Instance Court (Ethiopia) has released 11 police officers on bail.

The police officers were arrested on suspects of not discharging their responsibility on the occasion of the grenade attack that happened during a rally held in support of Prime Minister Abiy Ahmed in Addis Ababa in June. (Ethiopian Broadcasting Corporation/EBC)

-- The government of Ethiopia has planned to boost its export trade in order to reduce the current debt burden that the country faces, Ministry of Finance and Economic Cooperation said.

Ethiopia's risk of external debt distress remains moderate since 2015/2016 although the burden has reached 26 billion U.S. dollars, which indicates high risk in debt distress. (ENA)
