LA PAZ, Aug. 20 (Xinhua) -- Bolivians may soon file all government paperwork online thanks to a proposed bill being debated by the legislature, a government official said on Monday.

Nicolas Laguna, director of the state Electronic Government and Information and Communication Technologies Agency (AGETIC), said the Digital Citizen Law will make bureaucratic procedures obsolete.

Individuals will no longer have to physically show up at a government office to file an application or make a request, he added. They will be able to access government services and get information while interacting with the corresponding agencies online.

All Bolivians and foreign residents who are 18 and older would be able to register to get their "Digital Citizen" credentials with AGETIC, according to the proposed bill. Enditem
