AMMAN, Sept. 12 (Xinhua) -- King Abdullah II of Jordan said he will meet with leaders of several countries over the Palestinian issue during the upcoming the 73rd UN General Assembly held in New York, state-run Petra news agency reported Wednesday.

The Jordanian king made the announcement at his meeting with a delegation from the Borard of Trustees of the World Affairs Council in the capital Amman.

The means to support the UN Relief and Works Agency for Palestinian refugees will top the agenda of his meeting at the sidelines of the UN assembly, the king said.

Jordan has been appealing for financial support for the UN refugee agency after the United States recently decided to stop all funding to it.

Meanwhile, King Abdullah reaffirmed the two-state solution, which demands establishment of an independent Palestinian state with East Jerusalem as its capital, as the key to addressing the Palestinian issue. Enditem
