TEGUCIGALPA -- Central American leaders said on Monday that it was important to identify the organizers of a migrant caravan heading north towards the United States.
Meeting in the Honduran capital Tegucigalpa, the presidents of Honduras and Guatemala, Juan Orlando Hernandez and Jimmy Morales, agreed to condemn the organizers for encouraging undocumented migrants, including many women and children, to embark on the arduous journey. (Honduras-Guatemala-Migrants)

MOSCOW -- A Russian Su-27 fighter jet has intercepted a U.S. Navy EP-3E Aries plane over the Black Sea near Russian airspace and escorted it away in a safe manner, the Russian Defense Ministry said on Monday.
Meanwhile, the U.S. Navy announced that a U.S. reconnaissance aircraft was intercepted earlier on the day by a Russian fighter jet while flying in international airspace over the Black Sea.(Russia-U.S.-Interception)

CARACAS -- Venezuela's defense minister, Vladimir Padrino Lopez said on Monday that nine people were arrested following an ambush against a military unit which left three soldiers dead.
Another 10 soldiers were injured during the attack which occurred on Sunday in the state of Amazonas, some 710 kilometers south of Caracas, close to the border with Colombia. (Venezuela-Military-Ambush)

TRIPOLI -- The UN on Monday condemned an attack by a militia on a local hospital in the Libyan capital Tripoli, the UN Support Mission in Libya (UNSMIL) said in a statement.
"The United Nations condemns the attack against Jalaa Hospital for Women and Childbirth in Tripoli, by militias. The attackers shot one doctor and threatened the safety and security of the medical staff at the hospital, resulting in a three-day halt of all non-emergency medical services," the statement said.
