LONDON, Nov. 22 (Xinhua) -- British stocks decreased on Thursday, with the benchmark FTSE 100 Index down by 1.28 percent, or 89.91 points, to close at 6,960.32 points.

Just Eat, an online food order and delivery service, rose 3.86 percent, the top gainer of the blue chips. Burberry Group and Royal Mail increased by 3.68 percent and 3.34 percent, respectively.

Fresnillo, a Mexican-based precious metals mining company, was the worst performer in the blue chips, with its shares losing 12.08 percent.

Centrica, a British multinational energy and services company, dropped 9.23 percent. Smurfit Kappa Group, a leading corrugated packaging company, fell 6.03 percent. Enditem
