TIRANA, Nov. 24 (Xinhua) -- Albanian government has provided 134 new vehicles to the State Police to modernize and improve its logistic capacities, General Director of State Police Ardi Veliu said on Saturday.

Speaking at a ceremony, Veliu said: "Renewing the fleet of the police with new and quality vehicles will further improve the performance of police structures, providing a fast and efficient service to the public, and at the same time improve the working conditions and service of State Police officers."

Veliu explained that the fleet was enabled by state budget financing, with leasing contract for 4 years and is in the wake of government projects to modernize and improve the logistic capacities of the State Police.

The projects will be accompanied by the donation of 30 new motorcycles from State Electrical Energy Operator, which will patrol the streets of the capital city Tirana, said the director.

According to him, the fleet modernization includes vehicles, airborne drones, uniforms supply for all staff, and many other logistics elements. Enditem
