MOSCOW -- Russian forces opened fire on and seized three Ukrainian naval ships in Russia's territorial waters in the Black Sea on Sunday after they violated the Russian border, Russia's Federal Security Service (FSB) said early Monday.

The Ukrainian ships Berdyansk, Nikopol and Yany Kapu breached the Russian border on Sunday morning and attempted to conduct more illegal actions at around 7 p.m. Moscow time (1600 GMT) defying orders of accompanying vessels of the FSB and Russia's Black Sea Fleet, it said. LOS ANGELES -- The U.S. border patrol on Sunday suspended all traffic at a busy crossing between San Diego, California and Mexico's Tijuana, where thousands of migrants are massing in a makeshift shelter to apply for asylum.

The U.S. Customs and Border Protection (CBP) agency in San Diego said in a series of tweets that traffic and pedestrian crossings in both directions were suspended at the San Ysidro port of entry. (U.S.-Mexico-Border)

KAMPALA -- The death toll from a weekend boat accident that capsized on Lake Victoria in central Uganda rose to 35, a military spokesperson said here on Sunday.

Lt. Col. Deo Akiiki, deputy military spokesperson, told Xinhua by telephone that search and rescue operation will continue but there are little hopes of finding survivors since the boat capsized on Saturday night. (Uganda-Boat Accident)

LOS ANGELES -- The deadliest wildfire in the history of the U.S. state of California that has killed at least 85 people was finally brought under control after burning for more than two weeks, authorities said on Sunday.

The California Department of Forestry and Fire Protection (Cal Fire) tweeted that the fire, dubbed as Camp Fire, scorched 153,336 acres (620 square km) before it was 100 percent contained. (U.S.-Wildfire) Enditem
