SKOPJE, Nov. 27 (Xinhua) -- The Parliament of Macedonia adopted the Law on Pension and Disability Insurance's amendments to lower the retirement age of the miners in Macedonia, the Ministry of Labor and Social Policy declared in a press release on Tuesday.

According to the ministry, miners in Macedonia will now retire at the age of nearly 50 instead of the current average age of 58.

"With these legal changes, we come to the forefront of the long-standing demands of the miners and correct a great injustice," declared in a statement by the Ministry of Labor and Social Policy.
