PARIS, Nov. 29 (Xinhua) -- French shares edged up on Thursday, with the benchmark Paris CAC 40 up 0.46 percent, or 23.01 points, to close at 5,006.25 points.
A total of 26 of the 40 selected large companies gained in the day.
French aeronautic giant Safran advanced 5.04 percent, the top gainer of the blue chips. Essilor, the French company producing ophthalmic lenses, rose 3.57 percent, followed by Valeo, a French automotive supplier, which gained 2.49 percent.
French retail giant Carrefour went down by 2.00 percent, the top loser of the blue chips. French water and waste group Veolia Environment lost 1.34 percent. French multinational hotel group Accor edged down 1.09 percent. Enditem
