PARIS, Dec. 3 (Xinhua) -- French shares edged up on Monday with the benchmark Paris CAC 40 up 1.00 percent, or 50.06 points, to close at 5,053.98 points.
A total of 25 of the 40 selected large companies gained in the day.
French multinational automotive supplier VALEO advanced 8.02 percent, the top gainer of the blue chips. French international luxury group Kering rose 7.68 percent and Frenco-Italian electronic group Stmicroelectronics gained 6.03 percent.
French retail giant Carrefour went down by 5.79 percent, the top loser of the blue chips. French concessions and construction company Vinci edged down 2.20 percent and French multinational pharmaceutical company Sanofi lost 1.99 percent. Enditem
