LONDON, Dec. 4 (Xinhua) -- British stocks decreased on Tuesday, with the benchmark FTSE 100 Index down 0.56 percent, or 39.65 points, to close at 7,022.76 points.
Fresnillo, a Mexican-based precious metals mining company, soared 3.73 percent, the top gainer of the blue chips. Randgold Resources Ltd and Smith & Nephew increased by 3.07 percent and 1.78 percent, respectively.
Gvc Holdings, a multinational sports betting and gaming group, was the worst performer in the blue chips, with its shares losing 6.18 percent.
