TOKYO, Dec. 5 (Xinhua) -- Tokyo stocks lost ground Wednesday morning as a drop in long-term U.S. Treasury yields sparked concern among investors about the pace of growth in the U.S. economy.

The 225-issue Nikkei Stock Average lost 89.11 points, or 0.40 percent, from Tuesday to 21,946.94.

The broader Topix index of all First Section issues on the Tokyo Stock Exchange, meanwhile, lost 4.80 points, or 0.29 percent, at 1,644.40.
