SARAJEVO, Dec. 5 (Xinhua) -- The Peace Implementation Council Steering Board (PIC SB) Political Directors on Wednesday urged Bosnia and Herzegovina's (BiH's) authorities to instantly implement the results of the general elections, High Representative Valentin Inzko told reporters.
PIC SB held the press conference after a two-day meeting that focuses on the implementation of results of the Oct. 7 general elections.
"Unfortunately, political parties have failed to reach an agreement when delegating delegates to the Federal House of Peoples," Inzko said, warning that the constitution of the Council of Ministers could also be postponed.
PIC SB political directors advised BiH's authorities to, without further delay and in the spirit of constructive dialogue, form government at all levels.
"Authorities should refrain from blocking or obstructing the implementation of election results for narrow party interests and thereby holding the future of the country and its people hostage," Principal Deputy High Representative Dennis W. Hearne told reporters.
PIC SB released in a communique that the Political Directors met the newly-inaugurated BiH Presidency members, encouraging them to make every effort on behalf of BiH to protect the interests and equality of all citizens, and contribute to the country's reform path.
Established in 1995, the PIC is an international body comprising of 55 countries and agencies supporting the peace process in BiH through the Office of High Representative. Enditem
