BEIRUT, Dec. 6 (Xinhua) -- Citizens in the villages of Kafr Kila and Marjeyoun in southern Lebanon received Thursday an Israeli audio message warning them about the dangers of the tunnels dug by Hezbollah under their houses.

"We call upon citizens in Kafr Kila to stop dealing with Hezbollah, otherwise their houses will be destroyed," said the message quoted by the National News Agency.

"Your town will face dangers due to the tunnels dug by Hezbollah," it added.

Israel announced Tuesday that the Israeli military had detected tunnels crossing from Lebanon into northern Israel and that the country started an operation to destroy them.

It added that its operation would be inside Israel, and would not cross the border.

For its part, the Lebanese army command assured its citizens in the south that the situation is calm and is being closely monitored.

On Tuesday, the Israeli military released a photograph of a tunnel uncovered in the village of Kafr Kila in southern Lebanon. The army said the tunnel crossed the border and reached the northern town of Metula in Israel.

Israeli military announced Thursday that a second such underground tunnel had been uncovered in the Lebanese border.

Israel and Hezbollah, an Iran-backed militia in southern Lebanon, fought a month-long war in 2006 that ended in a ceasefire. Enditem.
