LONDON, Dec. 6 (Xinhua) -- British stocks decreased on Thursday, with the benchmark FTSE 100 Index down 3.15 percent, or 217.79 points, to close at 6,704.05 points.
Randgold Resources, an international gold mining and exploration business, soared 2.73 percent, the top gainer of the blue chips. Fresnillo and Severn Trent increased by 1.08 percent and 0.05 percent, respectively.
Antofagasta, a copper mining company, was the worst performer in the blue chips, with its shares losing 7.07 percent.
