TOKYO, Dec. 7 (Xinhua) -- Tokyo stocks were mixed Friday morning as renewed trade concerns inhibited buying, while fresh hopes for a halt in the Federal Reserve's tightening policy lifted the market mood.

The 225-issue Nikkei Stock Average gained 22.40 points, or 0.10 percent, from Thursday to 21,524.02.

The broader Topix index of all First Section issues on the Tokyo Stock Exchange, meanwhile, declined 0.49 points, or 0.03 percent, at 1,610.11.

Land transportation, retail and service issues comprised notable gainers, while decliners by the morning break were led by oil and coal product, mining, and nonferrous metal-linked issues. Enditem
