HERAT, Afghanistan, Dec. 8 (Xinhua) -- Three civilians were killed in a roadside bomb blast in Afghanistan's western province of Herat on Saturday, a provincial government spokesman said.

"Three youth of a family lost their lives after their vehicle touched off an improvised explosive device (IED) in Kort-e-Sufli village of Guzara district. The vehicle was destroyed in the explosion which occurred roughly at 7:30 a.m. local time," Jilani Farhad told Xinhua.
