LUSAKA, Dec. 8 (Xinhua) -- The following are news highlights in Zambia's major media outlets on Saturday.

-- Zambian President Edgar Lungu has expressed delight over the Constitutional Court's ruling that declared him eligible to contest the 2021 polls.

Presidential Spokesperson Amos Chanda said the Zambian leader can now concentrate on improving the lives of citizens and governing the nation. (Zambia Daily Mail)

-- Health authorities in Zambia have denied reports of an outbreak of a strange disease in Kalabo district in the western part of the country whose symptoms include a severe headache.

Minister of Health Chitalu Chilufya said the government was not aware of an outbreak neither has any hospital in the district recorded deaths caused by the strange disease. (Times of Zambia)

-- Zambian Vice-President Inonge Wina says the government has no plans to remove from the constitution the 50 percent plus one requirement for a presidential winner.

The Zambian vice-president said it was not true that the government was contemplating removing the clause from the constitution. (Daily Nation)

-- The United Nations Population Fund (UNFPA) says it was unfortunate that access to reproductive health information and services has remained a challenge for many women and girls in Zambia.
