SKOPJE, Dec. 10 (Xinhua) -- Macedonian President Gjorge Ivanov and Albanian Parliament Speaker Gramoz Ruci agreed that the bilateral ties have witnessed a satisfactory development, a press release of the Macedonian President's Office read on Monday.
Ivanov had a meeting with Ruci who is on an official visit to Macedonia.
Ivanov and Ruci agreed that Macedonia and Albania share the same foreign-policy objectives in terms of the European Union accession, good-neighborly relations and regional cooperation as prerequisites for the stability and prosperity of the Western Balkan region.
The press release also said that Ivanov voiced belief that Albania would keep supporting Macedonia's accession to NATO.
Moreover, Ivanov praised the decision of the Albania's Parliament to adopt a law, which boosts the minority rights, expressing hope that it would better protect and affirm the cultural, lingual characteristics of Macedonian nationals living in Albania.
Earlier on Monday, Gramoz Ruci had a meeting with the Macedonian Prime Minister Zoran Zaev, to whom he assured that Albanian will be among the first countries to sign NATO accession protocol for Macedonia. Enditem
