TOKYO -- Search and rescue operations were called off Tuesday for five missing U.S. Marines who were aboard a jet and a tanker plane when they fatally collided midair last week off Japan's western coast.

According to the Defense Ministry here, the search was called off as there were no significant remnants of the crash site detectable, despite U.S. forces, Japan's Self-Defense Forces, the Japan Coast Guard as well as the Australian air force searching an area covering round 90,000 square km of area in the Pacific Ocean. HANOI -- Vietnam's economic growth is projected at 6.8 percent for 2018, accompanied by broad macroeconomic stability, but risks have intensified and are titled to the downside, the World Bank (WB) said on Tuesday.

According to Taking Stock, the WB's bi-annual economic report on Vietnam, the pace of the country's economic expansion is forecast to remain at 6.8 percent this year, higher than the projected figure of 6.3 percent for emerging markets in the East Asia and the Pacific. (Vietnam-Economy)

JAKARTA -- Indonesian national police will dispatch a massive security force to secure the forthcoming Christmas across the archipelagic nation which has weathered a series of militants' attacks in recent years.

SRINAGAR, Indian-controlled Kashmir -- Four policemen were killed Tuesday after militants attacked a police post in restive Indian-controlled Kashmir, police said.
