Myanmar seizes stimulant tablets in western state

YANOGN, Dec. 12 (Xinhua) -- Myanmar authorities have seized 292,500 stimulant tablets worth of 585 million kyats (377,419 U.S. dollars) in Rakhine state, according to the Central Committee for Drug Abuse Control (CCDAC) on Wednesday.

Three gunny bags, refilled with stimulant tablets and buried under the spillway of a prawn breeding pond in Shwe Zar village tract, Maungtaw township, were uncovered on Tuesday, the release said.

Local police has filed against the owner of the prawn breeding pond under the narcotic drugs and psychotropic substances law. Enditem
