TOKYO, Dec. 13 (Xinhua) -- Tokyo shares rose Thursday morning on hopes for easing trade tensions.
The 225-issue Nikkei Stock Average gained 214.87 points, or 0.99 percent, from Wednesday to 21,817.62.
The broader Topix index of all First Section issues on the Tokyo Stock Exchange was up 11.13 points, or 0.69 percent, at 1,617.74.
Gainers were led by marine transportation, oil and coal product, and iron and steel issues. Enditem
