PRAGUE, Dec. 13 (Xinhua) -- Army and police are the most trusted among the selected public institutions in the Czech Republic, according to the survey results released by CVVM poll agency on Thursday.

Both of the army and police enjoyed a high level of 67 percent of public trust.

Meanwhile, about 58 respondents said they trust the judiciary, while public trust in NGOs and the media is low, with only 37 percent of Czechs trusting NGOs.

There has been a slight increase in confidence in the police since 2016. The current result is the highest since 1994 when the CVVM started to monitor it. People's assessment of courts has also improved.

Mistrust prevails in relation to NGOs, the press, public television and the internet. According to CVVM, people's trust in NGOs sharply dropped in 2015, which may be linked to the migrant crisis. For the Internet, 39 percent of respondents trust it, and 54 percent mistrust it.

The poll was conducted by CVVM on November 3-15. Enditem
