SYDNEY, Dec. 14 (Xinhua) -- Children and families who have been suffering from cancer and other life threatening illnesses had a magical morning on top of the Sydney Harbor Bridge on Friday, treated with Christmas carols and a visit from Santa Claus.

Organized by the Starlight Children's Foundation, the kids climbed the iconic 134-meter structure along with 15 singers from the Sydney Children's Choir.

When the kids reached the top of bridge to take in the spectacular harbor views, Santa Claus met the group and led the choir in a surprise performance to bring good will festive cheer.

While the angelic choir sang classic Christmas carols like Jingle Bells, Oh Come All Ye Faithful and We Wish You a Merry Christmas, Santa's elves took snapshots of the children against a backdrop of the Sydney Opera House to remember the glorious occasion.

"We are so lucky to be able to create special moments like these for our Climbers," said Chris Zumwalt, chief executive officer of BridgeClimb Sydney.

"BridgeClimb has a history of connecting and inspiring people, and today is one of those wonderful stories that will leave lasting memories for all involved," Zumwalt said. Enditem
