NEW DELHI, Dec. 14 (Xinhua) -- Indian parliament's lower house Lok Sabha was adjourned Friday morning amid pandemonium, even as the lawmakers belonging to the ruling and the opposition benches, mainly the Indian National Congress (INC), hurled charges against each other.
The day was the third consecutive day when the lower house was adjourned till the next working day without transacting much legislative business. The ongoing winter session of parliament began Tuesday.
Speaking in the Lok Sabha, the country's Home Minister Rajnath Singh alleged that the INC President Rahul Gandhi and his partymen were trying to gain political mileage by raising the alleged scam in the government's deal to buy Rafale fighter jets from France.
Belying Singh's charge, INC lawmakers raised slogans against the government, leading to the pandemonium.
The home minister was referring to the observation of the country's apex court -- the Supreme Court of India, which earlier in the day gave a clean chit to the government over the Rafale fighter jets deal by rejecting all the petitions filed against the government alleging scam in the deal. Enditem
