TOKYO, Dec. 14 (Xinhua) -- Tokyo stocks closed sharply lower on Friday as investors opted to secure gains after the Nikkei's two-day winning streak, while the Bank of Japan's Tankan survey sparked concern over the weak outlook among large Japanese manufacturers' business sentiment.

The 225-issue Nikkei Stock Average lost 441.36 points, or 2.02 percent, from Thursday to close the day at 21,374.83.

The broader Topix index of all First Section issues on the Tokyo Stock Exchange, meanwhile, dropped 24.49 points, or 1.51 percent, to finish at 1,592.16.

Mining, precision industry, and machinery-linked issues comprised those that declined the most by the close of play. Enditem
